RBI urges all LDMs to be agents of change

SRINAGAR, June 18: A day’s workshop was organized for the Lead District Managers (LDMs) functioning in Jammu and Kashmir at Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Srinagar.
Satya Narain, General Manager, FIDD inaugurated the workshop and in his key note address stated the importance of Lead Bank Scheme (LBS). He emphasized the role of all the stakeholders and their responsibilities in the development of the country through the successful implementation of LBS scheme.
While appreciating the role being played by the LDMs in ensuring the overall development of the State, he also flagged, key areas of concern in the State such as digital connectivity, low CD Ratio which is hovering around 50 per cent and achievement under Annual Credit Plan etc.
He urged all the LDMs to be the agents of change and contribute in the development of the districts and J&K. He informed that such workshops were being periodically organized by RBI to update and refresh the knowledge and awareness of LDMs about various instructions/ schemes, etc. relating to Lead Bank Scheme, priority sector lending/financial inclusion/ financial literacy etc. and such events also facilitated a two-way direct communication between RBI and LDMs.
A session each on revamp of Lead Bank Scheme, Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy, digitalization (UPI, USSD, BHIM etc), JLG, SHG, PLP, doubling of farmer’s income by 2022 and issues pertaining to SLBC, was taken by RBI officers and guest faculty from NPCI, NABARD and SLBC respectively.
