JAMMU, June 13: Former MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma today inaugurated newly renovated Master Devi Chand Memorial Municipal park and beautified chabutra at Rehari Colony in Ward Number 24.
Sharma was accompanied by State Secretary Veenu Khanna, District President BJP Ayodhya Gupta and other leaders of the party and local residents.
The upgradation project for the park and chabutra has been executed at a cost of Rs 5.72 lakh approximately and the works were done under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The chabutra was inaugurated in memory of Late Sh. Labha Ram Gupta, S/o Sh. Kanchi Ram.
Speaking on the occasion, Former MLA said that this newly renovated park will provide a healthy environment to the local residents and it will motivate them to exercise, socialize and maintain a healthy lifestyle especially for kids and elderly, senior citizens etc.
Sharma highlighted the historical importance of chabutra for the residents of Ward Number 24 and sought cooperation from the community populace for its preservation.
SDPO West Amit Sharma also contributed to this noble cause by donating fans for the shed in Master Devi Chand Memorial Municipal Park.
State Secretary Veenu Khanna said that beautification of Chabutra was a long pending demand of the local residents and completion of this project will add up to the development of the ward. She mentioned that BJP is committed to serve the masses and development of country.
District President Ayodhya Gupta asked the people to take care of all public utilities created by the Government for their convenience. He also urged the locals to help in maintaining the parks.
