JAMMU, June 13: In a meeting here today Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) has demanded abolishment of Toll Tax on Goods in J&K.
The Federation has resolved to send an urgent communication in this regard to Prime Minister’s office.
“Central leadership of BJP often talks about abrogation of Article 370 in the interest of national integration so let a small step in this direction be initiated by ‘One Nation One Tax’ by abolishing Toll Tax on Goods more so when the State is under President’s Rule,” said Neeraj Anand, Federation president while addressing the meeting.
He further said that continuation of Toll Tax on Goods is proving detrimental to Jammu traders’ community especially to the registered traders.
Anand said that due to this, trade is being shifted to other States and cement, infrastructure and other such allied lines are glaring example in this regard.
The meeting was attended by Raman Gupta, Parveen Gupta, Shiv Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Tushar Mahajan, Ajay Gupta and Parag Abrol.
