KATHUA, May 18: An old woman was killed and four members of her family were seriously injured when the car in which they were traveling collided with safety wall on National Highway near RTO Office Kathua.

All the injured were shifted to District Hospital and then referred to Pathankot Hospital in serious condition. The accident took place when ill fated car bearing Registration Number, PB35 AB 7310 was on way from Jammu to Pathankot suddenly collided with safety wall on National Highway. This resulted in serious injuries to five persons travelling in the car. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kathua where doctor declared one old woman identified as Sheela Devi, 70, W/o Omkar Nath resident of Pathankot as brought dead.
The other four injured were given treatment in the hospital. They were identified as Sourav, son of Sunil Mahajan , Veena Kumari, W/o Sunil , Pallavi W/o Sourav and Sunita Mahajan W,/o Raman. All residents of Pathankot. They were coming from Jammu to Pathankot after attending marriage ceremony. The cause of accident was not known so far. The police has registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
