RAJOURI, May 17: The 38 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Battalion conducted a lecture on women empowerment schemes in J&K for local women to spread awareness about the same and the ways and means to avail it.
The event was organised at Vocational Training Centre, Bhattian, which was attended by approximately 25 ladies of the Panchayat. Naseema Begum, Sarpanch, Saaj was the chief guest of the event. The event commenced with opening speech by Sarpanch followed by a lecture by Captain Manish Kumar of Army on the topic. He focused upon various Government schemes to include State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Kishori Shakti Yojana, SABLA scheme etc and the procedure to avail these schemes.
He also motivated the ladies working in VTC centre run by Army to extract maximum benefit out of it. Locals appreciated the efforts of Army for providing opportunities to maximum ladies of the region to learn stitching and other skills at VTC and helping them to become self reliant.
