JAMMU, May 11: Some leads have been found in the gypsy, which was stolen by thieves from outside the residence of a lady Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) from Nanak Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Ajay Kumar, a driver posted in SDRF with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that some unknown person(s) decamped with the official gypsy of the DySP Tejinder Kour, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Samba, from Nanak Nagar area during the intervening night of May 9 and 10.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 121/19 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
“Some leads have been found and they are working over it”, sources said, adding that the stolen gypsy has been caught in CCTV camera in District Samba, but has not crossed Lakhanpur. Search is going on to recover the stolen vehicle and arrest the accused, sources informed.
However, “the security men have been told to remain extra vigilant and also all the nakas have been tightened so that the vehicle could be traced out at the earliest”, sources said, adding that inquiry also stands ordered to ascertain the reason that why official vehicle was used for private travel to residence.
