Drug peddler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: Udhampur Police today arrested a drug peddler and seized 140 tablets of banned drug from his possession while in another success, stolen money and mobile were recovered from a thief.
Giving details, SSP Rajiv Pandey said that a police party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Vijay Choudhary, apprehended a suspected person at Link Road near Omara Morh, Udhampur. Police recovered 140 tablets of Tramadol from possession of the said person, namely Ankush Sharma, son of O P Sharma of Chopra Shop, Udhampur.
The accused person was arrested and the recovered tablets were seized. In this connection, a case FIR No.140/19 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Udhampur.
Meanwhile, acting on a complaint lodged by one Laxmi Devi, whose purse containing mobile phone and Rs 2780 cash was snatched by some unidentified snatchers, Udhampur Police apprehended a suspect and started investigation. During questioning, the suspect admitted his crime after which the snatched mobile and cash were recovered from his possession. The arrested accused was identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Shamsdin of Neel Ramban.
