SAMBA, Mar 2: Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department, Sarita Chauhan, today laid the foundation stone of Government Degree College at Ramgarh.
The ceremony was held in presence of Sushma Chauhan, District Development Commissioner Samba, Vijay Sharma, SDM Vijaypur and Principals of Government Degree Colleges of Jammu City.
Senior officers of PWD (R&B) and the district administration were also present.
A large number of students from the catchment areas, various local Sarpanchs, Panchs and other people were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Chauhan said that a long-pending demand of the people of the border area has been met and Governor’s administration is committed to improve higher education scenario in the State.
The PWD (R&B) Department has been entrusted with the job of construction of building infrastructure of the college with campus of over 60 kanals of land with all modern amenities within a stipulated time.
