RAMNAGAR, Feb 12: BJP spokesperson and former MLA Ramnagar Ranbir Singh Pathania today called upon the Governor’s Administration to ensure early commencement of the upgradation work on Ramnagar- Basantgarh road.
While meeting with various delegations from far flung areas, Pathania informed that funds under various schemes have been sanctioned for the improvement and upgradation of Ramnagar-Dudu road and this 60 years-old dream was about to be conceived in another one year once the work commences.
He also informed that BM work on Ramnagar-Padhraka section (Km 1st to 16th) has been approved and sanctioned under Towns and Cities Programme, Padhraka- Tibri-Majori (Km 16th – 36th) under CRF at cost of 28 crore, Km 36 to 60 under PMGSY upgradation. “People of the area shall have access to metalled road connectivity very soon,” he said and added that non commencement of work due administrative dilly delaying was costing public dearly as presently the road has been blocked due to snowfall, landslides and rain. He was also skeptical of the snail’s pace progress of work on the said road. “Although CRF funds have been sanctioned more than three years back, total funds are yet to be spent,” he added and demanded punitive/corrective measures including fixation of responsibility into the matter as to why the people of the area have been kept bereft of the road facility once total funds for macadamisation-cum-upgradation of the road have been sanctioned.
Pathania asked the administration to restore the vital road link at an earliest as the anger was brewing amongst the general public in view of the recent snowfall. He also called for restoring power, drinking water supply, ration supply and other civil amnesties in the area. Since the past ten days, about fifty villages are in dark thereby creating a chaos-like situation in the area.
Pathania was addressing large public gatherings at Bhatyari, Dehma, Majalta and Gadamb while entourage of the far flung villages of Ramnagar where he took review of the grievances and feedback of the public.
