Srinagar, Feb 12: Police today cane-charged National Health Mission (NHM) employees who were trying to march towards the Raj Bhavan this afternoon to press for their demands including regularization of their services.
Hundreds of National Health Mission (NHM) employees assembled at Partap Park in Srinagar and tried to march towards the Governor’s house here.

Police swung into action and foiled their protest march by erecting barricades and resorting to lathicharge. This triggered clashes between the protesters and the police.
Police also used pepper spray to disperse the protesting employees, leaving several employees unconscious.
Several protesters were detained by the police after they blocked the traffic movement on the Residency Road.
The employees who have been on strike for last one month demanding regularization in a phased manner, equal pay for equal work and other benefits.
