Mismanagement, faulty audio system trigger chaos

VIJAYPUR, Feb 3: Extremely enthusiastic crowd of more than one lakh, repeatedly yelling and waving on each sentence of their beloved Prime Minister during public rally here today, was testimony of the fact that Narendra Modi magic is still prevalent among the electorates, more particularly at the time when only three months are left for the next Lok Sabha general elections.
People of all age groups and different walks of life from various parts of Jammu region, including a large number of females, had reached the rally site for listening to their leader Narendra Modi, who addressed the massive gathering for around 36 minutes and touched a chord with the audience by starting his extempore speech with some sentences in Dogri language.
Emotions were high among the audience and everyone seemed crazy for their charismatic leader, who had to make brief stops in his speech as there were repeated cheering and yelling Modi… Modi amidst waving of hands towards the dais.
When the Air Force choppers carrying PM Modi and others accompanying him, landed near the rally site, a wave of excitement spread among the enthusiastic audience. Eager to have a glimpse of the leader, people stood from their chairs and were seen capturing the view in their mobile phone cameras.
PM Modi along with Governor Satya Pal Malik and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh arrived at the rally site at 12.35 pm and straightway went to the venue where arrangements were made for laying foundation stone of various projects in Jammu. He remained there till 1.04 pm and reached the main stage of public rally at 1.05pm.
As soon as PM appeared on the dais and he waved to the audience, thousands of hands were seen everywhere responding to him with cheers and slogans from the excited gathering. People were so eager to listen to Modi that State BJP president Ravinder Raina had to cut short even brief welcome speech as the crowd kept shouting Modi, Modi in veneration.
While the entire atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm, mismanagement on the part of organizers greatly hurt the audience, who could not properly listen to PM Modi because of faulty audio system and chaos in sitting arrangement despite spending crores of rupees on arrangement for the mega rally.
The sound system was echoing and thus not audible, which was also realized by the PM himself, who had to ask the gathering whether they were not able to listen to him and then repeated some important sentences in his speech to make the audience understand his points.
To get a closer look of the PM and in attempt to hear him clearly, people on back seats rushed towards the front with the result that a chaos like situation emerged and remained so till end of the rally.
There was a separate enclosure for the media persons but the same was also occupied by the public thus creating hurdles to the journalists in covering the event smoothly. Faulty audio system coupled with deafening cheers by the audience on adjoining seats made it extremely difficult for the journalists to note down or record speech of the PM.
Further, mismanagement on part of the Information Department, which was entrusted the responsibility of media coverage of the PM rally, subjected the visiting journalists to virtual harassment by taking them rally site more than three hours before the scheduled time. There was not even drinking water facility for the media persons who were made virtual hostage of the Information Department’s mismanagement for more than seven hours.
