RAJOURI, Feb 6: The police has arrested a cheat when he was trying to withdraw money of another villager from his area by stealing his passbook and pasting his own photo from Kotranka area of Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that one Romesh Kumar, son of Ved Parkash, resident of Sakri village managed the passbook of one security guard Chamel Singh, son of Lakhi Singh of Sakri. Chamel works as security guard in Mumbai. Romesh went to the J&K Bank branch at Kotranka and tried to withdraw Rs 4200 from Chamel Singh’s account. The bank manager got specious after Romesh put the signatures in English while Chamel Singh always signed in Urdu. The Manager suspected him as impersonator and informed police. The police party rushed to the bank and nabbed Romesh Kumar. The passbook was also seized. Chamel Singh was informed and a case was registered against the accused.
