Sham urges teaching fraternity to nurture students as per present trends

AKHNOOR, Jan 31: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma has urged the teachers to impart quality education to the students to enable them to compete in present day job markets.
The Minister was speaking at an annual day function of Government Higher Secondary School, Chowki Chowra, near here today.
Appreciating several milestones achieved by rural students in various fields in and outside the country, the Minister said that there was no dearth of talent in the rural youth provided they are nurtured properly.
Maintaining that education was the priority sector and Government has been paying focused attention on upgradation of the educational infrastructure and other basic facilities in the educational institutions across the State.
The Central Government has provided liberal funding to upgrade the existing educational infrastructure under RMSA and SSA and strengthening the educational network in every nook and corner of the State, therefore, people must take advantage of the facilities and send their children to schools, the Minister maintained.
On the occasion, the Minister announced construction of boundary wall of school from his Constituency Development Funds. He directed the executing agency to accomplish the work before March 31, 2013.
The school children presented colourful bonanza of cultural items depicting the nationalism and composite culture of State, which was highly appreciated by the gathering.
The Minister distributed prizes amongst the participating students who excelled in academic and extra-curricular activities.
A large number of local people, Sarpanchs/Panchs, officers of various departments, teachers and school children of various adjoining schools were present on the occasion.
