JAMMU, Jan 29: J&K Coordination Committee Trade Unions (JKCCTU), held a meeting under the chairmanship of Mohammed Maqbool its State President in which all affiliated unions participated.
The meeting, while discussing the problems reiterated five point charter of demands of Centre and highlighted the burning issues of State Government.
The meeting demanded abolition of contract casual system and outsourcing. It also demanded minimum wages at the rate of Rs 10,000 per month, replacing of PFDRA Bill with pension for all and ensuring of TU rights.
It also discussed the state level issues which included registration of all temporary employees and workers, enhancement of retirement age and removal of anomalies.
It said the CCTU has given a call of nation-wide strike on February 20 and 21. It said on February 6 a state level convention will be held in which all trade unions will be invited to discuss the course of two days strike and a resolution will also be adopted on the demands.
Other trade union leaders who were present in the meeting included Gurmeet Singh, R Kumar of PDD, Bharat Bhushan, Raj Kumar, OP Khajuria, Nirdosh Opal and Rukhsana.
