JAMMU, Dec 20: An emergency meeting of Kashmiri migrants was held under the chairmanship of president Er. Ramesh Chander Mahajan, president Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha in which he gave details of the door to door campaign launched by his organization in Jammu and Delhi and other cities where Kashmiri migrants are putting up at present appealing them to get themselves enrolled as voters.
The meeting also appealed them to ensure costing of their votes enmass in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections for the overall empowerment of the migrants.
Chander said during the campaigning thousands of migrants have availed the facilities of making corrections and getting themselves enrolled as voters. He also appealed both State and Central Governments that the migrants be declared as internally displaced people and given reservation of five seats in Assembly, four in Legislative Council and one each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
