Cardamom futures weaken on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Jan 28: Cardamom prices fell by Rs 5.20 to Rs 1,094.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits, driven by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March weakened by Rs 5.20, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,094.80 per kg in business turnover of 139 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in February shed Rs 1.60, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 1,065.90 per kg in 353 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, on subdued demand against adequate stocks position, mainly weighed down cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
