SRINAGAR, Jan 27: Actor Ranbir Kapoor is shooting with his ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone, in the sub-zero temperatures at world famous Ski resort of Gulmarg for his film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD).
Kapoor arrived in Gulmarg on January 25 and started shooting at Kongdori in Gulmarg at an altitude of 8875 feet on January 26 where the minimum temperature is hovering around minus 10 degree Celsius.
The film is being shot in two extreme temperatures as it was shot in last summer heat in Rajisthan and now it is being shot in sub-zero temperatures at Kongdori, Gulmarg.
Kapoor will be shooting again tomorrow at Kongdori for third consecutive day and will head for Pahalgam for his next shoot. After Pahalgam, he is shooting in Srinagar.
Kapoor will be here for at least one week for Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD). YJHD has been shot in several beautiful locations and there are few song sequences to be shot in Kashmir.
The movie, which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin, is produced by Dharma Productions. The film has already created a buzz for many reasons, including the fact that it will bring back ex-lovers Ranbir and Deepika on-screen after a long time.
The Bollywood is keenly looking at the romance of Ranbir Kapoor with his ex-girlfriend Deepika in Kashmir.
The film’s shooting began on March 20 in Hadimba Temple in Manali. In May, the cast filmed in Udaipur, where Kapoor and Padukone also shot for a romantic song. The unit then shot at Rajasthan which was difficult due to the heat. After filming in Mumbai, Kapoor went alone to Paris, France to shoot a 5 minute long sequence which took 10 days. The shooting took place in August 2012 in a famous street market called Rue Mouffetard. Other important scenes were then shot in Filmistan, Mumbai. And on the last leg of the shooting, Kapoor is in Kashmir.
Ranbir is the third Kapoor to visit the State for a film after his father Rishi Kapoor and granduncle, Shammi Kapoor shot here. Rishi Kapoor shot for Bobby in 1972 and Shammi was there for Kashmir Ki Kali in 1964. And there has always been a lot of hype about these films and the two Kapoors in them.
Ranbir Kapoor last year shot here for Imtiyaz Ali’s musical romantic film Rock star. The film’s music was composed by A R Rehman.
Interestingly, Kashmir seems to have made a comeback as one of the favourite locations for Bollywood shoots in India. The late Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan was also shot there last year.
