JAMMU, Jan 23: Pradesh Youth Congress president, Shah Nawaz Choudhary and State chief of National Students Union of India (NSUI), Uday Chib called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in his office at the Union capital today and projected some issues related to the State.
These two youth leaders from Congress Party demanded insurance and special package for the people living along the LoC in the State, especially in Rajouri, Poonch, Uri and Karnah. They demanded that Home Ministry should frame a committee and send it to Kashmir to review and analyse the security threat to Panchs and Sarpanchs and to take initiative for their safety and security.
They further pleaded that a policy be formulated to make SPOs permanent as they are fighting militancy since long. The youth leaders also demanded launching special recruitment in para-military forces for the youth hailing from remote and border areas of the State. It was also suggested to frame a committee to prepare a road map to bring peace and stability in the State on the basis of Working Groups’ suggestions.
The Home Minister gave patient hearing and promised to take up these issues on priority. He said for special recruitment drive in J&K, instructions have already been issued to the concerned quarters.
