Seminar on birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji held

JAMMU, Nov 22: The Department of Punjabi of University of Jammu here today organized a seminar on 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to commemorate the golden jubilee celebrations of the varsity.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion while Prof. Manjeet Singh, Former HoD, Punjabi, University of Delhi was special invitee.
Dr. Baljeet Kour, Head of the Department presented welcome address.
The programme started with Gurbani Shabad presented by students of the Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Manjeet Singh presented a detailed paper on the life and principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji who conveyed the message of equality of human beings and the concept of oneness among the people.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar spoke on the contribution of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the social life of the people suffering from discrimination and injustice.
Prof. Ramnika Jalali Former Dean, Faculty of Arts University of Jammu, scholars Dr. Randheer Kour, S. Manjeet Singh, Kusum and S. Rajveer Singh presented their papers and Dr. Snobar, Dr. Kamaljeet Kour, Chanpreet Kour, Gurpreet Kour, Kuldeep Kour and others recited their poems highlighting the historical, cultural, mythological and scientific importance and relevance of philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Granth Sahib in the present scenario.
