The hike in diesel prices as decided by the Government of India will be a great blow to the common man in the country who is already reeling under high prices of essential commodities. The farmers who use diesel to run generator sets for agriculture activities will come under severe strain. They will have to dole out more money to run water pumps. In return they won’t get the prices of their produce. The hike in prices will have a cascading effect on other items of daily use.
The Government should find a way to deal with this price of rise. Otherwise it will increase inflation in the country which is not in the interest of the nation.
