JAMMU, Nov 21: Gandhi Nagar police claimed to have foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a notorious criminal along with country made revolver and live catridges.
On November 21, a team from Gandhi Nagar police station laid a naka at Green Belt, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu for checking/frisking of vehicles and intercepted a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AW-9057.
During checking of the bike rider, who was identified as Paramjeet Singh alias Sunny son of Labh Singh, resident of Ward No 4, Simbal Camp, Jammu, one country made revolver (Desi Katta) along with two live catridges were recovered from his possession.
With the arrest of the accused, Gandhi Nagar claimed to have foiled a murder plot, as the arrested accused sin a notorious criminal and a number of cases of attempt to murder, stabbing and keeping/possession of illegal arms, etc has been registered against him in different police stations of Jammu district.
Accordingly, a case FIR NO 263/2018 under Section 3/25 Arms Act was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigations started.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Sunil Jasrotia, SHO, police station Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of SDPO City South, Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, SP City South, Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta.
