Inter-State gang busted, 2 arrested with 26.5 kg cannabis

JAMMU, Nov 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police busted an inter-State gang of drug smugglers by arresting two persons along with 26 kg of high-quality cannabis in Samba district.
As per official spokesman, acting on a tip-off, SP Police Component Jammu Sandeep Mehta deputed a team of Component sleuths headed by Inspector Bharat Sharma, who laid down a joint naka at Mansar Morh along with sleuths of Police Station Samba and intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number DL3CAL-3696.
During checking, 26.5 kilograms of high quality cannabis from the specially designed chambers inside the body of the car and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Manjoor Ahmed and Tawseef, both residents of District Kupwara Kashmir.
A case under FIR Number 293/18 under section 8/20/25/29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Samba Police Station and investigation started.
The whole exercise was closely monitored by SP Police Component Jammu Sandeep Mehta and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Samba Koushal Kumar.
