NEW DELHI, Jan 21: Mentha oil futures prices today moved up by Rs 5.80 to Rs 1,345.20 per kg as speculators built-up fresh positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Tight stocks position following less arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh further supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February rose by Rs 5.80, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 1,345.20 per kg in business turnover of 178 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in January traded higher by Rs 4.80, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,330.30 per kg in 689 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators, driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid lower arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
