JAMMU, Nov 6: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) and Duggar Manch members have urged upon the State Governor, SP Malik to free the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages from the political interference.
In a joint press statement, NDS president Harish Kaila and other members sought urgent interference of the State Governor into the affairs of J&K Academy. They said how a man from a political party and a Legislator can occupy the chair of vice president of the Academy in violation of rules. Infact, the chair of vice president of the Academy is traditionally meant for the writers /artists’ community that too, from the Jammu region to make balance between the two regions because the chair of the president of the Academy is reserved for the Chief Minister. He alleged that political people are responsible for back door appointments, there and an inquiry should be held for the same. They also demanded inquiry into the financial irregularities committed in the Academy during past one decade.
