JAMMU, Oct 28: A Senior Grade Constable of Traffic wing of J&K Police died under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Digiana area of city outskirts.
“According to the family, the cop identified as Balbir Singh (43) son of Anant Ram, resident of Preet Nagar (Digiana), had come home last evening in an inebriated condition. He went to sleep as usual but when he did not wake up in the morning, they shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors”, a police official said.
As the family expressed suspicion over his death, the Digiana police got conducted postmortem of the body and initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in the case. The deceased cop was posted with Traffic police City, Gole Market, Point No 005595.
