Samba police recovers stolen bike, arrests lifter

SAMBA, Oct 16: Samba Police has recovered a stolen bike and arrested bike lifter within five days after the report was made in Police Station Samba on October 11.
Police said on October 10, a written complaint was received at P/s Samba from one Nitin Kumar, S/o Som Paul R/o SIDCO Phase-I regarding missing of his bike bearing Regd. No. JK21/ 3704 from Samba area. Acting on the complaint, a case FIR No. 269/18 U/S 379/RPC was registered at P/S Samba and search was started to trace out the said missing bike.
Acting on specific information, a special team was constituted on the direction of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba headed by Inspector Chanchal Singh, SHO PS Samba under the supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy. SP Hqrs Samba raided the spot at Chhan Arorian, district Kathua and recovered the stolen bike from the accused person namely Surmu Din, S/o Hanif Ali R/o Ghati Tehsil Hiranagar, district Kathua A/P Thirdu Tehsil Marheen, Kathua. On further questioning, he disclosed that he had bought the bike from Rajat Sharma alias Badu S/o Govind Ram R/o Chhan Arorian tehsil Mahreen, Kathua. Both the accused persons were arrested and further investigation is going on.
