Drug peddler arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Oct 15: Panjtirthi police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler with 10 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Panjtirthi Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was moving under mysterious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sachin Kumar, son of late Sham Lal, a resident of Balachor, Punjab.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Panjtirthi Police Post SI Vipin Bangotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Virender Gupta, SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Amritpal Singh and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
