JAMMU, Oct 7: A delegation of Ikkjutt Jammu led by its Chairman, Advocate Ankur Sharma met Art of Living Foundation head, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The delegation discussed the issue of grant of minority status to non-Muslims in J&K.
Sharma informed Sri Sri about the non-implementation of final judgment on his PIL on minority rights in the Supreme Court.
He said that the implementation of the judgement would have paved way for the constitution of a State Minority Commission to grant minority status to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Jains living in J&K.
He also talked about IkkJutt Jammu’s petition in Supreme Court seeking abrogation of Article 35-A and explained how this Article provides constitutional mechanism for the creation of an alleged ‘Islamic State’ on secular territory of India.
Sharma also said that orders by the then CM Mehbooba Mufti on Feb 14, 2018 granting legal immunity to ‘Muslim Tribal’ communities for land encroachment is still in force.
He further talked about discrimination against Jammu by JKPSC, SSRB, J&K Bank and deep rooted corruption in the State.
Sri Sri listened to the deputation and assured full help and cooperation for ventures which are of common interest between IkkJutt Jammu and AoL foundation.
Ajaat Jamwal, Founder Member of IkkJutt Jammu, Chamail Singh and Rupali Dutta were also present in the deputation.
