JAMMU, Sept 17: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) has appealed Divisional Commissioner Jammu to intervene personally to restore water supply in Durga Nagar and adjoining areas, where water has not been supplied for last one week.
In a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina, president of DNWC, in which senior citizens of Durga Nagar Sector 1, 2, 3, Durga Nagar Enclave, Dogra Nagar and other committee members were present, speakers expressed resentment over no water supply in last seven days in these areas, which have been facing severe water crisis in this hot and humid weather.
They urged Chief Engineer of PDD not to take shut down of Muthi feeders, which is essential for supply of water in these areas. They also appealed to solve the issue of PHE daily wagers, as their strike also badly affects the water supply.
