SAMBA, Sept 1: Describing Panchayat and local bodies election a golden opportunity to teach lesson to BJP and PDP, former Minister and district president Samba, Manjeet Singh said that it was a big opportunity for the party to make another new beginning.
Addressing Congress workers meeting at Vijaypur today, he said that participation of youth and women is imperative for ensuring their effective involvement in decision making at local levels. He exuded confidence that the sagacious voters would elect dedicated and public spirited representatives who would change the rural scenario by their innovative ideas.
Taking a dig on BJP, Manjeet Singh said that BJP leadership from Jammu has virtually sold the honour and pride of Jammu. They compromised every time and surrendered all the core issues. They failed to watch the interests of Jammu people and for the sake of power and money, surrendered all the issues. They have damaged the Jammu people badly during last three years of regime and proved themself as liability on the people of Jammu.
He said previous BJP-PDP Government has miserably failed to provide drinking water, adequate power supply and ration to the general public. The people of this area are facing acute shortage of water and concerned MLA and the concerned PHE staff failed to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
He pointed out that unprecedented power and water crisis in the whole Jammu province in general and Vijaypur in particular, was result of the failure on the part of present Government.
Manjeet Singh said that the people residing on the border, have suffered huge loss due to unprovoked firing by Pak troops have not been provided with any financial assistance as was announced by the previous BJP-PDP at that time.
