Residents protest against alleged prostitution

KATHUA, Aug 10: People from two wards today held protest against the Police Department for alleged prostitution in the restaurants.
A large number of residents of Ward Number 5 and 6 of the district including women assembled in front of SSP Office Kathua and held protest.
Nari Jagriti Manch President Sushma Mahajan and Satish Kumar Mahajan alleged that during last ten years the prostitution under the garb of restaurants has been going on. They alleged that police was mute spectator to the illegal activities.
Later, the protestors also met DC Rohit Khajuria and SSP Kathua Sridhar Patil and apprised them about the nuisance created by some restaurants running in the district by promoting the sexual activities.
The delegation demanded strict action against the restaurants involved in unhealthy activities.
