This is in response to the news item “Pensioners not to visit AG’s Office” DE July 5, 2018. The revised order too has been issued without taking into account the difficulties of the aged persons. Initially, after getting the forms authenticated by the officer of the office from which the pensioner last retired was to be handed over directly in the AG’s office which has been done by most of the pensioners but now a revised order/directive has been issued. Moreover, the widows in case of family pension are also required to get the forms authenticated by the officer from which the pensioner had retired. If the pensioner had retired from Leh, does it mean the aged widow has to go all the way to Leh for getting the form anthenticated. These are very important issues and need to be addressed by the Finance Deptt. by ordering some easy and simple procedures so that the aged widows drawing family pension are not put to any inconvenience besides the fate of forms already received by the AG’s office need to be decided forthwith.
