KISHTWAR, July 12: District Development Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana today convened a meeting and finalized the arrangement for smooth conduct of Sarthal Devi Yatra falling on July 20 and 21.
During the meeting the members of the Sri Sarthal Devi Trust apprised the Deputy Commissioner that the Yatra will proceed from Goori Shankar Mandir Sarkoot on July 20 afternoon towards Sarthal Shrine and the chari will be received by the priest in the temple in the evening. Hawan will be concluded on July 21 in the temple premises and the yatra will return to Kishtwar on July 22.
Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure all basic facilities enroute Yatra like availability of drinking water, availability of medical facilities, ambulance, toilet facilities for pilgrims, improve the light system around the temple besides sufficient number of vehicles for transportation of devotees.
The arrangements regarding security and availability of fire tenders were also discussed and finalized.
DDC asked all the officers of line department to work in coordination for smooth conduct of Yatra and ensure full facilities to the devotees.
ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal, CPO Yasir Balwan, CMO, Tehsildar and ARTO, besides officers of other departments and representatives of Sri Sarthal Devi Trust were also present in the meeting.
