44 bovines being smuggled to Kashmir rescued, 3 held

RAJOURI,  Apr 23: The police today foiled four separate bovine smuggling attempts to Kashmir via Mughal Road  in the district Rajouri and rescued forty four (44) cattle from the clutches of smugglers.
Official sources said that a Police team during routine patrol on Thanamandi – Shahdara Sharif road rescued 20 bovine animals from smuggler Mohd Din, son of   Fakar Din while another police team rescued 10 bovines from the possession of Mohd Akbar, son of  Wali Mohd at  Behrote last night.
The Police received information that a smuggler is smuggling  some bovines in the area after which a team rushed  to the area  and foiled the bid by intercepting the smuggler at Azmatabad in Thanamandi.
The police arrested Mohd Shabir, son of   Sain Mohd of the same area.  He was smuggling ten bovines which were rescued by police team. They were moving on foot along with cattle and had to load them after crossing two nakas ahead.
The Police registered three separate cases under FIR Nos. 49, 50, 51/2018 u/s 188 RPC 3 PCA at PS Thanamandi.
SHO Thanamandi Nazir Ahmed Dar supervised the operation, under the directions of  SDPO, Itikar Chowdhary.
Meanwhile,  a yet another Police team headed by Incharge PP Chingus SI Fareed Ahmed, laid a Naka at Kallar on Jammu-Rajouri highway early today  and signaled a Tata Mobile to stop but driver parked the vehicle at some distance and fled from there.  On search of vehicle, four bovines were found loaded in it which were rescued while vehicle has been seized. The police registered a case and started manhunt for the drivers/ smuggler.
