Jeera futures weaken on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Apr 20: Jeera prices turned weak by Rs 130 to Rs 15,600 per quintal in futures trade today as traders opted to  book profits at prevailing levels, influenced by subdued physical trends.
After yesterday’s rise, operators went for profit bookings at existing levels in pressure of falling spot market prices on mounting of stocks due to pick up in supplies, which reflected downbeat trend in jeera futures prices, market players said.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange  counter, jeera delivery for the immediate contract April slipped by Rs 130 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 15,600 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 90 lots.
The delivery of the most traded second contract May also fell by Rs 80 or 0.50 per cent to Rs 16,080 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 5,718 lots. (PTI)
