Adm lodges FIR as Govt books on sale in market

Rajouri, Apr 18: The District Administration has lodged an FIR with local police as Government books meant for free distribution in schools have been found sold in the open market in the area.
Official spokesman said that District Administration Rajouri detected a scam involving sale of Government published free books meant for distribution in schools being sold by private schools. More than 25 schools have been caught selling such books and inspections are going on.
He said teams of Education Department inspected schools in Thanamandi, Rajouri and Darhal and ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildars have been directed for inspection in respective areas. Samples have been lifted from several schools.
Today, a complaint on behalf of Lal Hussain, Chief Education Officer Rajouri has been received in the Police Station alleging that books of 6th, 7th and 8th class provided by Board of School Education J&K for distribution among the Govt school children were recovered from private school’s as well as from the shop of book seller at Saaj. Tehsildar Thannamandi Qazi Qadeer along with officials has sealed the shop. On this complaint, case FIR No. 43/2018 u/s 409/109 RPC has been registered.
