DC holds grievances redressal camp at Balakote

BALAKOTE, Apr 18: Dist-rict Development Commissioner, Poonch Mohammed Aijaz today held a public grievances redressal camp in Balakote near LoC.
During the camp, the locals apprised the DDC about several issues pertaining to area’s infrastructural need and developing better road connectivity to the area. They also demanded the construction of road from Faizan Khan Chowk to High School Galuta, upgradation of PHC to SDH level, upgradation of Sub Center Dharti & Sandhote to PHC level, grid station at Dharti, post office at Balakote, effective mobile network, improvement in drinking water facilities by upgrading Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) including WSS Behroti to Tirkhana, WSS Sarngi to Dhergloon, Water Tanker service in water stressed areas, Trauma Center at PHC Dargloon, construction of bunkers, improving of power infrastructure, play fields near MS Sarika & HS Dharti along with several other issues.
The DDC assured the people that all their genuine demands will be considered and further resolved some of the issues by passing on spot instructions to the concerned district and sectoral officers.
The DDC directed the district officers to pay regular visits and organize camps in all the remote areas to generate awareness about the various Government schemes designed for the welfare of general public.
He informed the locals that 20 bunkers for the Balakote will be taken up immediately. Prior to this, District Administration has decided to take up the construction of 100 bunkers across the district by pooling of resources available with district administration besides which proposal of 1600 bunkers already stands submitted to the Central Government.
The DDC further informed the gathering that keeping in view topographical conditions small foot bridges shall be constructed over small Nallahs this year in the area besides which play grounds in each panchayat of the tehsil Balakote will be taken up on priority.
Later, the DDC met the relatives of the family which lost five of its members in cross LoC shelling and handed over the appointment order under SRO-43 to the Next of Kin of the affected family.
