SRINAGAR, Mar 28: Students of Higher Secondary School Behnipora Rajwar in Handwara area of Kupwara district today held a protest demonstration against the dearth of teaching staff in the institution.
The protesters alleged negligence of Education Department for not sanctioning mandatory teaching staff for the institution.
“We are more than 360 students enrolled in the institution and we have only four teachers. Each passing day, students enrolled in the institution have to suffer in the academic session,” they said.
The protesting students accused higher ups of the concerned department for not sanctioning required teaching staff, which forces students to go for private tuition centers and pay hefty amount for that. “Poor students of this area are also victims of the negligence. Everyone can’t pay hefty amount towards private tuition centers which is totally injustice with the students,” they said
Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Shafiq Nabi War said that 13 posts are vacant in the institute and within a period of one week, teaching staff will be sanctioned to the institution, so that students won’t suffer.
