Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum discusses problems

JAMMU, Dec.3: A meeting of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum was held under the chairmanship of its State President N S Jamwal in which the general Secretaries of Kashmir and Jammu division, all the tehsil heads of Jammu district and number of core-members participated.
The meeting discussed various problems being faced by the Lecturer community in particular and the teaching community in general.
Various core members raised voice against the unnecessary delay in issuance of formal orders of regularizations of 14 subjects for which the screening committee met on October 11, 2012 and appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his personal intervention to redress the general problems like issuance of formal orders of regularization of incharge Lecturers as Lecturers, sanction of running pattern in favour of lecturers, non vocational status in favour of Principals and higher incentives in favour of Lectures having higher qualifications like M.Phil and Ph.D.
While addressing the meeting, Jamwal appealed to the Commissioner-Secretary Education and Director School Education to fill-up of vacant posts of Principals and Lecturers at the earliest as most of the schools are running short of teaching staff.
He further stressed on the re-organization of the School Education Department, which is the need of the hour. “Now, a number of centrally sponsored schemes are going to be implemented and at the same time a number of new schools have been opened and up-graded and it is the proper time to provide separate Directorates at Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary levels at earliest so that the Centrally sponsored schemes under SSA & RMSA be implemented properly”, he added.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Tarsem Singh, general secretary Jammu division, Bashir Ahmed, general secretary Kashmir Division, Ashwani Sharma, chief organisor, Romesh Sharma, Ghar Singh, Pardeep Singh, Yash Pal, O P Katoch, Deepak Sharma and Suresh Kumar.
