JAMMU, Feb 20: Sainik Colony police arrested two chain snatchers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Sainik Colony Police Post apprehended two chain snatchers, who had snatched 2.5 tolas gold chain valuing around Rs 70,000 of a lady namely Manjeet Kour, wife of Ujagar Singh, a resident of Sainik Colony last year.
The arrested persons have been identified as Gagandeep Singh, son of Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Digyana and Jatin Kumar, son of Tarlok Kumar, a resident of Nanak Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 47/17 under Section 382 RPC stands registered against them at Channi Himmat Police Station and further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Sainik Colony Police Post SI Balram Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Sajad Mir, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
