Interaction with Sufiyana Maestro held

SRINAGAR, Feb 15: Radio Kashmir Srinagar and Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized an interaction program with Sufiyana Maestro, Qawaal and noted instrumentalist at JKAACL headquaters in Lal Mandi here today.
A JKAAKCL spokesman said that the program was organized under the series NAAMWAR which is being organized from last more than two years and attended by noted artists, performers, writers and educationists.
“Ustad Mohammad Khaleel Bhat narrated his association with Sufiyana Mosiqee, Chakri, Kashmiri Chalant, Ghazal Goyee and other forms of Kashmiri Singing for the last six decades. He presented some of his popular compositions in Kashmiri Qawaali to the best applause by the audience,” he said
He said Syed Himayoun Qaiser, Director Radio Kashmir, Srinagar described Ustad Mohammad Khaleel Bhat as a towering artist of Kashmiri singing, having his own distinct style.
“Mohammad Ashraf Tak, Chief Editor JKAACL, while presenting his welcome address described Ustad Mohammad Khaleel Bhat as a mile stone in Kashmiri Music, who has introduced certain new trends in Kashmiri Music,” he said, adding, “Masood Abbas Balpuri also presented a paper on Life and works of Ustad Mohammad Khaleel Bhat and Mr Rasheed Nizami conducted proceedings of the function and vote of thanks was presented by Satesh Vimal.
He further added that the eminent personalities who were present on the occasion include Zaffar Muzaffar, Dr Neelofar Naz Nehvi, Dr. G.N. Haleem, Raja Bilal, Shafeeq Qureshi, Akhter Hussain, Dr. Syed Iftikhaar, Dr Gulzar Ahmad Rather, Jameel Ansari, Mohammad Iqbal Lone and others.
