Grameen Bank organizes D-FLAP

JAMMU, Feb 14: J&K Grameen Bank organized Digital -Financial Literacy Awareness Programme (D-FLAP) at Government Higher Secondary School, Chowki Choura under the Branch Office Chowki Choura, tehsil-Chowki Choura, district-Jammu
The programme was organized in collaboration with NABARD on the theme of public participation in promoting cashless economy.  Bhopinder Singh, LDM SBI, who was chief guest on the occasion, made people aware about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. The participants were informed regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind for preventing cases of cheating/ corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM Cards, mobile banking etc.
People were educated about the Aadhaar seeding and mobile seeding with their respective saving bank accounts, which is need of the hour for the banking sector.
Veena Kerni, Principal Govt Higher Secondary School, applauded that the bank was making extraordinary efforts to make people aware of national programme of social schemes.
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, enlightened people and students about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, use of PoS machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Adhaar based transactions etc. He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by GoI on war footing; that shall ameliorate the lot of unorganised sector that remain deprived from such facilities. He also stressed upon the PMSBY & PMJJBY death claims process. On the occasion, the lump sum amount of Rs.2 lakh regarding PMJJBY death claim was also handed over to the nominee of the insurer, Nisha Devi.
Regional Manager Jammu,  K L Sharma  described the problems being faced by the general public due to the unawareness of the availability of simple digital and cashless transaction methods. He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man for availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry also attended the programme.   Balwinder Singh, Branch Head Chowki Choura, detailed the gathering regarding schemes of the bank. Car, Tractor, JLG and KCC loans of  Rs 37 lakh were also disbursed during the programme.
