KATHUA, Jan 28: Reiter-ating his commitment to provide better civic amenities to the people, BJP MLA from Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia has said that massive development activities have been launched in Kathua constituency to ensure safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the State.
The MLA, while interacting with the people after inaugurating lane and drain work at village Pandraad at the cost of Rs 20 lakh in the presence of Sarpanch Kumar Manglam, Vinod, Capt (retd) Jagdish, Lambardar, Brij Mohan beside others said with the starting of these works, the long pending demand of the people has been redressed.
He said that necessary instructions have been given to the concerned to complete the works within stipulated time frame. He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas and stressed the need for public involvement in the developmental activities. He said that without their cooperation his objective of taking Kathua’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
On this occasion, people also projected various other demands which were mainly related to construction of link roads, adequate health care facilities, water/power supply, sanitation, old age/widow pension, construction of community hall etc. While responding to the demands, Jasrotia gave assurance to the people that their demands would be met soon.
He said that he is broadly focusing on the development programs for developing the Constituency and uplifting the living standards of the people.MLA asked the concerned officers to work collectively to ensure effective implementation of the programs being run by the Government.
