JAMMU, Dec 24: Clerical Coordination Committee (CCC), Jammu today sought Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s intervention in removal of pay disparity of the clerical cadre.
The issue was discussed threadbare in a joint meeting of representatives of clerical associations of different departments under the banner of CCC Jammu. During the meeting, all the representatives expressed resentment upon the callous approach of the present Coalition Government towards clerical cadre and their issues.
While speaking on the occasion, the representatives said that on December 25, 2016, in a convention of clerical cadre held at SKICC Srinagar, the Finance Minister had announced that the requisite orders for removal of pay disparity of clerical cadre will be issued before January 9, 2017. “The same words were also repeated in the last year’ budget speech but unfortunately even after completion of one year nothing has been done till date”, they regretted.
The speakers said that their genuine demand is pending since two decades despite favourable recommendations of the last two Pay Anomaly Committees. They regretted that the recommendations were implemented partially in favour of the Police Department and another committee was created to review the recommendations of the clerical cadre, in consequence upon the High Court directions regarding removal of pay disparity of clerical cadre.
“Since then, the matter has been kept un under tossing mood till date”, they said and appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to intervene personally and issue necessary orders for removal of pay disparity of clerical cadre at the earliest.
