JAMMU, Dec 23: The birthday of Jesus Christ popularly known as Christmas (X-Mas) Day was celebrated with festivity and enthusiasm.
On the directions of Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K SK Mishra, Christmas was celebrated by the Father Thomas State Co-ordinator for Prison Ministry at District Jail Jammu, in which jail inmates and staff took part. The chief guest was Fr Jose vadakkel, Vicar General, Jammu Srinagar Diocese, while Dr MS Lone, DIG Prisons, Dinesh Sharma, Senior Superintendent District Jail Jammu, Mirza Saleem Ahmed Beig, Staff Officer to DGP, medical officers, section officers and other jail officers and staff were present. The students from Presentation Convent School Gandhi Nagar, St Peter’s Convent School BC Road and jail inmates presented colourful programmes. Christmas cake was distributed among the jail inmates and staff.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar celebrated the Christmas Day and New Year under the supervision of Devinder Kour, Principal of the school. Managing Director, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak in his speech asked one and all to spread the message of Jesus Christ who laid his life for truth, peace and love to eradicate the miseries of life. The students presented colourful programme under the supervision of Sheetal Basotra, Incharge Activity. Small but impressive scenes on the life of Jesus Christ were presented. Small kids of pre-primary classes presented Jingle Bell song which was appreciated by the audience. The vote of thanks was presented by Nirmala Koul, Vice Principal of the school.
X-Mas Day was celebrated in APS Akhnoor. Various colourful programme were presented by students. Principal KCS Mehta threw light on the importance of the day.
Dewan Devi Playway & Higher Secondary School, Rajpura celebrated Christmas Day with enthusiasm. The students attired in Santa Claus dresses distributed sweets and chocolates. A cultural programme was presented by the students. Chairman of the school Subash Chander Suri addressed the students.
Christmas Day was celebrated in Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Udheywalla. On the occasion a special morning assembly was conducted which comprised of enthralling dance performances and singing of song by primary wing of the school. The attraction of the day was the tiny toddlers who came in colourful Santa Claus and fairy dresses. Students from Pre-Primary witnessed the proceedings of Christmas at Main Church, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The programme was witnessed by the Secretary Dr SK Koul, Principal Annapurna Koul, faculty members and students of the school.
A colourful programme was organised to celebrate Christmas Day at ASN Higher Secondary School, Resham Ghar Colony. Students of primary and middle class attired in Santa Claus dress presented cultural items. The function was chaired by PB Kapoor.
The students of SM Jain Higher Secondary School celebrated Christmas Day and New Year with fervor and gaiety. In this connection a colorful programme was presented by the students. Principal Suresh Gupta along with General Secretary Ramneek Jain were also present on the occasion.
JK Montessorie British School and its affiliated unit JK Little Milliennium International Pre-School celebrated Christmas Day. The programme started with a special assembly to educate children about the significance of the festival “Christmas” by presenting a stage show “Birth of Jesus Christ”. Tiny toddlers were present in colourful costumes depicting the roles of “fairies” and “Santa Claus”. The students also participated in “Dance Dhamaka”. Director Academics Rajni Gupta addressed the students.
Luthra Public School Talab Tillo and Kachi Chawni, Shemrock Angels and Shemrock Icons celebrated Christmas. Colourful dance performances were presented by the students. Sanjeev Luthra Principal of the school and Rajeev Luthra Chairman were also present on the occasion.
Adarsh Vidya Niketan High School, Mahanpur Kathua celebrated Christmas Day. Students presented various cultural items, which were appreciated by the audience. Incharge Teacher Roma threw light on the importance of the day.
The staff and students of Vishu Public School, Harinagar, Old Janipur celebrated Christmas Day. Sudhir Pathak was the chief guest, while Sushil Kumar was the guest of honour. Neetu Razdan presented the welcome address. Colourful items were presented by the students. Principal BD Sharma presented vote of thanks.
DCM Public School celebrated Christmas with great joy and fervour. The students performed extravagant programmes like skits, melodious Christmas carols and dances. Children immensely enjoyed happy moments with Santa Claus. Christmas greetings were extended by the Chairman of the School SP Sharma, Managing Director Dheeraj Sharma and Principal Rama Jamwal.
Spring Blossoms Public School, Lakkar Mandi celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ in a grand manner. Children dressed as angels danced with Santa Claus, followed by a dance by students. Principal, Divya Gupta spoke about the purpose of birth of Jesus Christ and the presence of Santa Claus in Christmas celebrations.
Minerva Public School Kathua celebrated Christmas Day. Students of the kindergarten were dressed up as Santa Claus. They danced on different songs and on the music. Principal Sheetal Sharma was also present on the occasion.
A grand Christmas Carnival was organised in RM Public School. The students and staff dressed up in Red and White to honour the Christmas spirit. The program started with the lighting of candles in front of Jesus by the Chairman Rameshwar Mengi and Trustee Rita Mengi. This was followed by singing of Christmas carols, releasing of balloons by Christmas fairies and cutting of cake. On the occasion, the students presented a cultural extravaganza. Principal of the school Ravinder Kour and Vice Principal Magan Grover were also present on the occasion.
Green Fields School celebrated Christmas and New Year. Santa Claus and fairies sang Christmas Carol’s. A song skit presented by the little children stole the show. Principal Bhavana Sethi along with the staff participated in this joyous occasion.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Christmas Day. A special assembly was held to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Kindergarten children dressed as Santas relived the spirit of Christmas by distributing sweets amongst the audience. A nativity play was staged by the primary wing the singing of “A child is born’ in the background. Principal Anita Bhatia and Director of the school, Ruchi Charak were also present on the occasion.
Chander Bhaga High School, Akhnoor celebrated Christmas Day. The celebration started with a Special Assembly in which students of different classes and teachers highlighted the concept behind the Christmas celebrations. A Christmas tree was decorated and sweets were distributed to all. School organized individual class party for every class wherein they shared and ate with each other while singing Christmas Carols.
Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan celebrated the Christmas Day with beautiful depiction of the birth of Lord Christ by students. Various dances, songs and humming of the Christmas carols by young ones with sparkle in their eyes were enjoyed by everyone with great applause. Santa too made a grand entry in the school and distributed gifts among the students. Teachers and students threw light on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Inter-class competition was conducted from classes 1st to 5th during which the students made Santa models and decorated Christmas trees. Principal of the institution Gaurav Charak threw light on the importance of the day.
Christmas was celebrated with full gusto at Spring Dales English School Kathua. In the junior wing, tiny tots of Spring Dales came dressed up as Santa Claus and danced merrily to “Jingle Bells”. They were given sweets by the teacher dressed as Santa Claus who attracted the attention of the students. In the senior wing, the day began with a special assembly that included carol singing, dance presentation and comedy. Senior school students presented a well-crafted skit on the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. A teacher dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets amongst students. Children decorated Christmas tree, made snowman and Christmas cards.
Neelam Public High School Janipur celebrated Christmas. On the occasion, students sang Christmas carols and also presented dance items. Principal and staff members of the institution were also present on the occasion.
Daffodils Care Convent Pre School, Jain Bazaar celebrated Christmas with great pomp and show. The Crib & the Tree was decorated with balloons and buntings. The children were dressed as Santa Claus and Fairies. Children showed birth of Jesus Christ through a play, sang Christmas carol and danced on the tunes of jingle bells. Main attraction was Santa’s ride. Principal was also present.
Students at Indira Kids Playway School Shant Nagar, Janipur celebrated Christmas with joy and cheer. Students sang Christmas carols and delicious holiday treats. Santa Claus joined the celebrations and distributed gifts to students.
Madhuvan Kids Playway at Shastri Nagar and Babliana celebrated Christmas with great pomp and show. The children were dressed up as Santa Claus and Fairies. Santa Claus distributed sweets among the kids. Amrit Choudhary, Principal of the School wished the children and staff Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. A very impressive cultural programme was put up by the students.
KIDZEE celebrated Christmas at its branches in Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, and Trikuta Nagar. The celebration started with a special assembly in which the students highlighted the concept behind the Christmas celebrations. The toddlers were attired as Santa Claus and Fairies. They presented cultural items based on the theme of Christmas. In the end Santa Claus distributed candies among the students.
Mount Litera Zee School at Anand Nagar, Bohri and its junior wing Kidzee celebrated Christmas in the presence of Chairman Er Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Radhika Mahajan, staff and students. The celebration started with a special assembly in which the students highlighted the concept behind the Christmas celebrations. The toddlers were attired as Santa Claus and Fairies and presented cultural items. In the end, Santa distributed candies among the students.
Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Laxmipuram, Bantalab celebrated Christmas with lot of enthusiasm and in a unique way as the students of the school visited Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa Home for the sick and Dying Destitute and met with the inmates living there. The students celebrated this special day by gifting basic necessities as a token of love among these needy and underprivileged people. Chairman of the School Rahul Sharma told about the festival of Christmas.
Apple Kids International Pre- School, Bantalab celebrated Christmas. Clad in colourful and specially designed Christmas dresses, the young students danced on the tunes of popular songs and shared sweets among themselves. Students also took part in cake cutting ceremony with the Principal and teachers to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Students sung Christmas Carols and gave an eye-catching performance while dancing on the tunes of “Jingle Bells”. Principal of the School Arti Sharma briefed the students about the importance of Christmas.
A Christmas function was organized by small kids of V.M. International School, Ramgarh and Kidzee Playway School Ramgarh with great zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion, the children of the school dressed up as Santa Claus and fairies, presented variety of cultural items . Coordinator of the School Anu Gupta enlightened the students about Christmas. Counselor of the School Sukhjit Kour presented vote of thanks.
