PDP-BJP Govt fails to address genuine concerns of people: Mir

SRINAGAR, Dec 21: Pradesh Congress Committee president Ghulam Ahmed Mir today said that PDP-BJP Coalition Government has failed to address the genuine concerns of the people of the State.
Adressing party workers of Larkipora, Shahbad blocks, Dooru and Verinag towns in Anantnag today, PCC chief lashed out at ruling PDP-BJP coalition for failing to address genuine concerns of the people, as a result people were facing lot of hardships in every respect.
Mir also blamed the Govt for being insensitive to people’s problems and advised the Govt to concentrate on genuine issues concerning people rather than making tall claims about development of State and people. The party workers and delegates in the meeting apprised the president of the day today problems arising in the valley such as erratic power supply, non- availability of essentials, lack of development and sought immediate end to the issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir while blaming the Govt said that the process of developmental has come to standstill, although the Govt is making tall claims day in and day out with regard to developmental, but visibly there were no development taking place, anywhere on the ground. He said mere issuing statements won’t serve any purpose which amounts to create confusion among the people in order to divert the attention from the failures of the Govt.
Mir said the problems confronting people must be addressed on top priority to ensure their resolution, ensuring that people get some respite from the harsh winter.
Adding that PDP- BJP regime is discriminating with people under the garb of development, PCC leader blamed the coalition partners for accommodating blue eyed persons in respect of development, employment and according other facilities, as a result common people continue to suffer.
He urged upon the Govt to ensure adequate facilities to people and also see that people do not suffer on account of electricity, essentials etc.
Mir expressed deep sorrow over the loss of five precious lives due to house collapse at Panassi in Reasi today. He described the incident as very unfortunate. He offered condolences to bereaved family and expressed sympathy with them. He also emphasized that victims be provided full compensation.
