JAMMU, Dec 19: A nine-day capacity building tour of students from Doda district to Officers Training Academy, Chennai (OTA) was flagged in at Dharmund today.
The tour comprised of 34 students and four teachers from far flung villages of Doda district.
The tour gave these students an exposure to meticulous and illustrious military life and has encouraged students to imbibe best of the virtues including discipline, punctuality, integrity and patriotism in their personal life.
The tour members also visited Raj Bhawan and got an opportunity to have an audience with the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Students were also taken for sight-seeing of Chennai City and the famous Marina Beach to witness the cultural heritage of Chennai.
During the impressive flagging in ceremony at Dharmund, General-Officer-Commanding of the Army interacted with the students and further motivated them to pursue their studies and take up carrier choices in the Indian Army for a bright future.
Students from region lack awareness on career in Indian Army as an officer. Keeping this in view a tour was sent to OTA to motivate youth who will further spread awareness amongst their peer to join the Indian Army.
