JAMMU, Dec 18: A deputation of Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats’ Association (JKATA) today called on Agriculture Minister, Gulam Nabi Lone Hanjura at his residence and appraised the Minister regarding various discrepancies in the recently issued SRO 442.
The deputation led by Dr Vishal Manhas, chairman of JKATA, told the Minister that there are various deficiencies in the recently issued SRO 442 of 23 Oct 2017. The deputation members stated that at one hand ICAR has recommended Agri Technocrats as professional degree holder and on the other hand State Government has degraded the post and put them in 4200 grade pay which is equivalent to Field Assistant of Agriculture Department.
They appealed the Minister to amend the present SRO-442 and put them in technical grade pay (as per ICAR recommendation) and save the future of Agriculture Technocrats of the State.
Rajeev Sharma, general secretary of the Association briefed the Minister that majority of AEAs are 40 plus and they do not have more service and hence do not come under qualifying service criteria which is mandatory for a Government employee. He requested the Minister that the period of 7, 8 or 9 years which they rendered as REZ should be counted into regular service and put AEAs into old pension scheme.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that their demands would be fulfilled. The deputation also presented a copy of memorandum to the Minister.
The deputation included Yasir Tak, KD Singh, Chanchal Kumar, Nitan Baru, Sony Baloria, Arif Malik, Charanjit Kumar, Manu Mehta, Ravinder Singh and others.
