RAMBAN, Dec 11: A man was killed, when the Maruti car he was driving was hit by a tipper at Chamalwas area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here today.
As per police sources, a tipper bearing registration number JK14E-1452, which was on its way to Banihal from Ramban hit a Maruti car bearing registration number JK14-9200, resulting into the death of car driver.
The body of the deceased identified as Mohammad Younis, son of Abdul Gani, a resident of district Udhampur was shifted to SDH Banihal and after conducting autopsy, the body has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
The accused tipper driver identified as Mohammad Atif, son of Mohammad Ramzan, a resident of Qazigund.
A case under FIR Number 182/17 under Section 279, 337 and 304-A has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
