KISHTWAR, Dec 11: Despite heavy rains, the students of Kishtwar Campus of Jammu University continued their protest under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) against fee hike decision.
Large number of students under the banner of ABVP gathered in the Kishtwar Campus of Jammu University and took out a protest rally, which concluded at DC office. Amid slogans, the students sat on hunger strike at DC office.
Addressing the gathering, one of the protester said that Director Kishtwar Campus issued fee hike notice few days back and asked the students to submit the hiked fee otherwise they will not be allowed to sit in the exams.
“We have already submitted our semester fee and Jammu University authorities are doing injustice with us by further raising the fee”, he said, adding that they approached Chief Minister, Vice-Chancellor Jammu University, Director Kishtwar Campus and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, but no decision has been taken till date, which forced them to sit on hunger strike today.
If the decision of fee hike was not rolled back, then the students will launch agitation against the Jammu University authorities in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident the Varsity authorities will be responsible.
